One of the best beer bars in the Dayton area is now South Park Tavern, which is located in the South Park District downtown. Taps are always rotating and the manager does a great job keeping the tap list up to date on the official SPT website. Also expect to find a great selection of bottled micros in the cooler. The prices are great too. South Park has really delicious pizzas along with some bar foods like wings and a few other appetizer type dishes. They recently added subs to their menu, and I’ve heard from friends that they are mighty tasty. They also have live bands play on the weekends and they host special beer releases and fests sometimes. One of my favorite things about South Park is the laid back atmosphere. The people who work there are incredibly nice which makes South Park feel like your favorite “neighborhood bar”. You will always find a nice eclectic group of people there hanging out and the outdoor patio is a big draw in the warmer weather.
